Why study ASL?
Learning American Sign Language will allow you communicate more effectively with the estimated half a million people in the U.S. and Canada who use ASL as their primary language.
Proficiency in ASL may give you a leg up in many careers, including teaching, counseling, law enforcement, and emergency response. Learning and using ASL (or any other second language) will give your brain a boost. Research has clearly demonstrated the cognitive benefits of bilingualism.
