Why study Russian?
Russian is the world’s eighth-most spoken language.
Learn Russian in order to join the large community of Russian speakers. It is the official language of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, and it is widely used in Ukraine, the Caucasus, Central Asia and the Baltic states.
Russian may also be your ticket to a good job. Proficient Russian speakers are in high demand in government and industry.
Knowledge of Russian will allow you to read Dostoevsky, Tolstoy and many other wonderful writers in the original.
If you don’t already speak a second language, learning Russian will give your brain a boost. Research has demonstrated the cognitive benefits of bilingualism.
