- Application desensitizing agents
- Injectable and non-injectable anesthesia
- Polish, floss
- Prophylaxis (teeth cleaning)
- Deep cleaning (scaling and root planning)
- Fluoride
- Sealants
- Laser treatment
- Locally applied antibiotics
- Oral hygiene instruction and education
- Oral hygiene aids
- Care of dental prosthesis
- Nutritional advisement
- Smoking cessation
The following services are not provided in the Dallas College dental hygiene clinic:
- Emergency or urgent care
- Restorative (fillings, crowns, bridges, veneers, etc.)
- Endodontics (root canals)
- Periodontal surgery
- Oral surgery (extraction, implants, etc.)
- Orthodontics (braces)
- Jaw pain treatment
- Removable appliances (dentures, partials, etc.)
Having your teeth cleaned in the Dallas College dental hygiene clinic is not a substitute for regular
visits to
your dentist. Patients who require dental services beyond the scope of the preventive services provided
are
referred to their private dentist or specialist. For a patient without a dental home, a list of
community
clinics and offices in the area is provided.
