Degrees and Certificates

Students can choose from three fully online human resources credentials: Human Resources Assistant, Human Resources Associate (Level 1 Certificates) and the Human Resources Management Associate of Applied Science. All classes are eight weeks in length.

You may begin quickly as a human resources assistant and continue pursuing an associate degree through these consecutive credentials.

All programs have been endorsed by DallasHR.

This Associate of Applied Science degree combines the HR Assistant and HR Associate level 1 certificates for the ultimate HR Management preparation. This degree includes transferrable Core curriculum to allow you to gain employment in Human Resources fast, and work while you complete English, speech, math,humanities and social science courses that transfer to a four-year university to complete a bachelor’s degree.

Human Resources Assistant (Level 1 Certificate)
Learn human resources from where the rubber meets the road. This level 1 certificate prepares entry-level workers for a front desk clerical office role in a Human Resources department. Learn tools of the trade including organizational behavior and problem-solving skills as you answer first line questions from employees and supervisors.

Human Resources Associate (Level 1 Certificate)
This level 1 certificate prepares students for entry-level positions in Human Resources and includes preparation for the highly valued HRCI Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR) examination. Learn the tools of the trade including best practices for each function of Human Resources including training and development, employment, benefits and compensation, employee relations and risk management while preparing to become aPHR certified.


Already have a degree? You can take the HR Assistant and HR Associate certificates through Continuing Education to earn continuing education units (CEUs) as opposed to college credit. Same courses, same outcomes! Contact Continuing Education (ContinuingEd@dallascollege.edu)


 

​Length of time is based on catalog degree plans. Prerequisites may be required, which are not included in this estimate. For most programs, full-time student status is assumed, a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester.

 

Cost is based on tuition rates for program hours for Dallas County residents. Beginning in Fall 2020, the price of most required learning materials (books, software, supplies, etc.) will be included​ with the price of tuition. Find out about financial aid.
