What’s Being Offered?
The Skills for Small Business (SSB) program provides training for small, private businesses in the local area. Participating business partners can select training courses for their new and/or existing employees that will contribute to the enhancement of their businesses’ operations.
The program covers tuition and fees for courses provided by Dallas College up to:

$1,450 for new employees and
-
$725 for existing employees.

Why Is This Program Being Offered?
Dallas College was awarded a grant to fund “scholarships” to small businesses by the Texas Workforce Commission. The idea behind the program is to provide performance solutions that will assist small businesses to succeed — thus boosting the Texas economy.
Is My Business Eligible?
To participate in the SSB program, a business must:
- Be a private business.

Employ at least one and not more than 99 individuals companywide.
- Be financially stable.
- Be liable to pay unemployment insurance contributions to TWC and be in compliance with the reporting and payment requirements.
