According to the 2020 Census data, Dallas College’s trustee districts are not of sufficiently equal population and must be redrawn in order to comply with the “one-person, one-vote” (equal population) principle established by the U.S. Constitution.
The Board of Trustees of Dallas College is considering new boundaries for its trustee districts and wants to hear from you. Tell us what you think about the preliminary trustee district plan at the public hearing described below:
PUBLIC HEARING ON
REDISTRICTING PROPOSALS
2:00 p.m.
December 2, 2021
Dallas College
1601 Botham Jean Blvd
Dallas, Texas 75215
The preliminary plan for the trustee districts will be available at the hearing and is also available for public inspection during normal business hours at the Office of the General Counsel, Ste. 208, Monday through Friday from now until the date of the public hearing.
A copy of the plan is also
available on our redistricting website. In addition, you need to be aware that the Dallas College Board of Trustees has adopted Guidelines for public participation. The Guidelines, among other things, require that comments be submitted in writing even if you make them orally at the hearing; all written comments are due by the close of the hearing.
The Guidelines may be found at this link. Any plans that are proposed must conform to the redistricting Criteria adopted by the Board of Trustees.
The Criteria are found at this link.
