As a Cardiac Sonographer, you'll perform cardiovascular examinations to produce images of the heart and great vessels using high-frequency sound waves. These examinations are used by doctors to diagnose conditions like congenital heart disease, valvular disease, pericardial disease, and other cardiovascular problems.

You may have the option of completing an associate degree or an advanced technical certificate in Adult Cardiac Sonography, graduates of the Cardiac Sonography Program may take one of two credentialing examinations through either the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or the Cardiovascular Credentialing International.
