Dallas College is celebrating Community College Awareness Month this April with the launch of a five-week campaign, “Dallas College: Future Ready,” highlighting the critical role community colleges play in expanding access to education, strengthening the workforce and driving economic mobility across North Texas.

The Dallas College School of Creative Arts, Entertainment and Design is joining the city of Dallas in celebrating the power of creativity during Dallas Arts Month this April. The college will activate 12 campus-based galleries, 10 performance venues as well as at a range of community spaces to showcase the incredible talent of Dallas College students and faculty.

Dallas College is proud to announce that Louis Burrell has been named Chief Human Resources Officer of the Year at the 2026 Phenom HR Awards. The global recognition program, in its fifth year, celebrates organizations and individuals that are transforming human resources through groundbreaking applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation. Burrell receives the honor for his visionary leadership and innovation in human resources.

Dallas College leads coalition to strengthen college student mental health, at a time when more than one-third of Texas college students report symptoms of depression and nearly half report anxiety. The coalition has released "Strengthening College Student Mental Health: A Practical Playbook for the State of Texas."

Dallas College was awarded the 2026 Leader College of Distinction status by Achieving the Dream (ATD), one of the most respected student success organizations in higher education.

Dallas College was selected as a national finalist for the 2026 Bellwether Award in the category of Instructional Programs and Services. It’s a recognition that highlights the most innovative and effective programs in community colleges across the country.
