An Associate of Science Field of Study in Biology degree with courses in this pathway prepares you to transfer to the University of North Texas (UNT) to earn a bachelor’s degree that opens the door to a career in research, conservation, education, biotechnology, wildlife, forensics, the environment, pharmaceuticals, and many more areas. Although there may be several options to fulfill certain requirements for the associate’s degree, please note that this pathway lists the specific courses leading to this bachelor’s degree. All plans can be modified to fit the needs of part-time students. This is not an official degree plan. Refer to catalog for official degree requirements. You must receive a GPA of at least 2.00 on all college-level course work. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. Students following this plan must complete all Foundation course requirements before enrollment in 3000 and 4000 level courses required for the major. Successful completion is based on achieving a C or better in each course and an overall 2.5 grade point average in these courses. The Foundation courses in this plan are BIOL 1710, 1720, 1760, 2041, 2042; CHEM 1410, 1420, 1430, 1440, 2370, 3210; MATH 1650 (equivalent Dallas College course numbers: BIOL 1406, 1407, 2421; CHEM 1411, 1412, 2423; MATH 2412).
