Food Pantries

Hungry or concerned about being able to put food on the table?

Dallas College's food pantries are here to help. The pantries are located on our seven main campuses. Supplies range from snacks and meals to diapers. Everything is free.

Students can shop the pantry any time it is open. Community members can also shop the pantry during our special Drive-Thru Pantry and Community Pantry days.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides benefits via an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card. This EBT card can be used like a debit card to purchase eligible food at certain retail food stores, including through Amazon Fresh.

Visit the SNAP webpage to learn about eligibility and how to apply.

According to the North Texas Food Bank, one in six North Texans don't know where they will find their next meal.

That means it is more difficult for our students, colleagues and community members to put food on the table – even though our food costs are cheaper than the national average.

Nearly half of the Dallas College student population is food insecure. In the past 30 days, these students have eaten less at meals to make their food last longer or have skipped meals entirely. Many do not know where their next meal will originate. Yet, these students return to class, complete assignments and fight to earn their education, as they sacrifice so much to be here.

The struggle regarding food insecurity is real. But we can do something to help.
