(DALLAS) — Dallas College’s work with career centers in support of students has been recognized by
Handshake, the platform used by more than 1,500 higher education institutions that connects 75% of all U.S. college students with over 950,000 employers actively recruiting.
Handshake Career Spark Awards are awarded based on data gathered from the platform that shows success in using Handshake in three key areas: student engagement, employer engagement, and reporting and analytics. Dallas College received recognition for employer engagement and reporting and analytics.
According to Handshake Relationship Manager Essence Smith, “Dallas College sets the bar high in how they look to stay innovative in all aspects of their work. As a large, complex institution, their team is always looking for ways to better use data in their work and ensure they are doing what is best for both their student and employer partners.”
“The journey of embedding and using the platform has truly been a cross-collaborative effort between Career and Transfer Skills Development and the Employer Resource Center,” said Derek Soper, associate dean of Career Skills Development, Pathway Success. “I am proud of both teams and others along the way that have made this happen.”
