This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Construction Technology associate degree with an emphasis in HVAC-Commercial. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Construction Technology. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours (15 hours) required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official degree requirements.

The A.A.S. degree program in Construction Technology is designed to develop the hands-on skills and technical knowledge necessary so that a graduate may advance in career paths appropriate to their own interests and abilities. Some of the exciting career options include field engineer, estimator, building inspection, insurance and manufacturing representative, field supervisor, sub-contractor, and builder in either commercial or residential construction/home building. A graduate will have also covered skills in other areas such as planning, and organization, problem solving and decision making, related communication, and business and human relations. Courses that complete the degree also complete the Commercial Construction Certificate (C) and are noted below.

  • SPCH 1311 – Introduction to Speech Communication This is a Core course.
