As a community health worker, you will become a necessary link for hospitals, churches, insurance companies and non-profits to connect with diverse populations and promote healthy behaviors. Community health workers conduct outreach for medical personnel or health organizations in order to implement programs in communities. These programs promote, maintain, and improve individual and community health. Community health workers may provide information on available resources, provide social support, informal counseling, and advocate for individual and community health needs.
