Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education Residency Student
The Dallas College Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education (BAS ECE) program has benefited me tremendously in helping prepare me to become a mentor, a leader, and an educator. This program has shown me the hands-on experience and the fundamentals required to meet our student's needs and help prepare them for success in the future. In addition, we are working with experienced and professional mentors and teachers, such as our professors ensuring that we meet the expectations set down for us. I could not be happier about the experience and the opportunity to work with such an incredible program. I have already recommended several individuals to pursue the program and help them succeed as educators.
I chose to become an educator in the first place to provide a service to our future children to help my community and support society. Serving in the United States military helped me to see that I not only serve my country, but must serve the individuals in my state, community, and city. For me, having the opportunity to help in any way I can improve the lives of others has always been a rewarding and honorable feeling that I cannot express more deeply. Knowing that I am making a difference in the lives of others is and always will be my focal point throughout my life serving others is why I chose to become an educator. The military always used to say, "No Soldier Left Behind" for me, that is extremely important, and as an educator, I have learned that the motto is still the same "No Child Left Behind" this alone has meaning and purpose. So, we owe it to our children to stand by that mission.
