Logging in to the Microsoft Remote Desktop
Android Instructions

Logging into the Microsoft Virtual Desktop on Android. You can access your Virtual Desktop with your Android phone using the Microsoft Windows app in the Play Store. You will need to install the Windows app and know your student ID and password to log in.

Installing the Windows app from the Play Store:

  1. Launch the Play Store app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Search by typing "Windows app" in the search bar.
  3. Select the Windows app with the blue Windows logo.
  4. On the Windows App Store page, select the Install button to download and install the app.
  5. Once the app has finished installing, click the Open button to launch the app.

Logging into the Windows app:

  1. Once the app is open, click on Got It! on the Welcome screen.
  2. On the Windows app Sign-In page, select the blue Sign-In button.
  3. On the Microsoft Sign-In page, enter your E7 student email, then press Next.
  4. When the Dallas College Sign-In dialog appears, re-enter your E7 student email and your password.
  5. Click on the Sign-In button.

Note: If you are not physically on a campus and connected to the campus WiFi, then you will need to go through multi-factor authentication. You will see status messages while your workspace is being set up and it will appear shortly after. Please be patient if this is your first time entering the virtual desktop environment. The virtual desktop environment will load more quickly for subsequent logins.

You now have access to your virtual desktop workspaces just as you would on a computer.

iOS Instructions

Logging into the Microsoft Virtual Desktop on iOS. You can access your virtual desktop with your iPhone or iPad using the Microsoft Windows app on the App Store. You will need to install the Windows app and know your student ID and password to log in.

Installing the Windows app from the App Store:

  1. Launch the App Store app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Search by typing "Windows app" on the search bar.
  3. Select the Windows app with the blue Windows logo.
  4. On the Windows App Store page, select the Get button and the Install button on the pop-up that follows.
  5. Once the app has finished installing, click the Open button to launch the app.

Logging into the Windows app:

  1. Once the app is open, click on Skip or read through the slides on the Welcome screen.
  2. Select either Don't Allow or Allow on the following pop-ups.
  3. On the Devices page, select the Plus button on top of the screen next to the search bar.
  4. On the pop-up that appears, select Work or School Account.
  5. On the Microsoft Sign-In page, enter your E7 student email, then press Next.
  6. When the Enter Your Credentials box appears, re-enter your E7 student email and your password.
  7. Click on the Login button.

Note: The Remote Desktop app is available on Android 4.1 and later, and Chromebooks with ChromeOS 53 and later. The Remote Desktop app is also available on iOS 13 or later. Multi-Factor Authentication is required when connecting to your virtual desktop off campus.
