In this video, we're going to show you how to use the Chat feature in Microsoft Teams. In Chat, you can have one-on-one or group chats with different people. Messaging or chat is the most common way to communicate in Teams.
To start a chat with an individual, click on the Chat icon in the left-side navigation. Click on the New chat icon. Type the name of the individual in the To box. Select the person's name. Type a message in the message box at the bottom of the window. When done, click on the Send icon or press Enter. You will see the chat appear in the workspace area.
You can start a group chat the same way you start a one-on-one chat. Click on the Chat icon in the left navigation. Click on the New chat icon. Add each person's name or the group's name in the To box. Type a message in the message box at the bottom of the window. When done, click on the Send icon or press Enter.
You will see the chat appear in the workspace area. At the top of the chat area, you have tabs that can enhance your conversation. You have the option to add Files. View the org chart under the Organization tab. View recent messages, calls and meetings under the Activity tab.
You also have the option to add your favorite app or program by clicking the plus sign. You can also make one-on-one or group calls to anyone in your organization without having to host the meeting by selecting Audio call or Video call. These calls are private and will not appear in any team conversation.
