Introducing the DART Student Pass

DART GoPass® is your key to the city.

Heading to a class at one of the Dallas College campuses? How about an event downtown? Or maybe you’re catching a flight at DFW?

Get there with DART! Simply show your Student Pass using DART’s GoPass app, and your trip is absolutely free. All your DART adventures will also be environmentally friendly. Fewer drivers on the roads means cleaner air for our city. Now that’s real value.

All campuses are accessible by DART, whether you take the train, ride the bus or use DART's on-demand GoLink service to pick you up.

Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the GoPass program you must be:

  1. A credit student enrolled in six or more credit hours (for the Fall or Spring semesters) and three or more credit hours (for Summer semester)
    OR
  2. A continuing education student enrolled in 96 or more contact hours (for the Fall or Spring semesters) and 48 or more contact hours (for Summer semester).

How to Get Your Student Pass

  1. Be sure you have paid your tuition by direct payment, through financial aid or by setting up a payment plan.
  2. Get your Student ID badge on campus.
  3. Fill out the GoPass request form
  4. Download the GoPass app on your phone. It is free from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
  5. Open the GoPass app and register your phone number. In the GoPass app, you'll select “More” then “Your Profile” and follow the instructions to enter your information.
    • Once your eligibility is verified, your Student GoPass will appear in your GoPass app under “Wallet.” This means your request form has been processed. Request forms are processed every Monday and Thursday.
    • If you apply for your GoPass during the semester/term, your GoPass generally shows up in 2-5 business days. If you apply for your GoPass before your classes begin, your GoPass typically shows up about one week prior to the class start date. If you do not own a smart phone, physical DART GoPass "decal" stickers are issued after Certification Date (which falls on the 12th class day during the Spring, Summer and Fall semester).
    • As long as you qualify for a DART Student GoPass your pass will renew automatically with each new semester. You only need to apply once.
 

Dallas College students can use their Student Pass to ride GoLink, DART’s on-demand service.

Using a variety of vehicles and providers, GoLink provides curb-to-curb, door-to-door service within a designated zone — all on your schedule.

Your ride comes to you!

Students who already have a DART GoPass can use the GoLink service for free! DART offers two convenient ways to book a trip: Either with the GoPass app, or by calling 214-515-7272.

DART offers 30 GoLink zones. Book an on-demand trip with GoLink and head to work or class, run an errand or get a ride to DART bus stops and train stations.

Reservations are accepted seven days a week, 5 a.m. - midnight. For more information on GoLink zones and hours of operation, visit the DART.org/GoLink.

Paratransit Options

Eligible Dallas College students can also use DART Paratransit Services, an origin-to-destination, curb-to-curb, public transportation service for people with disabilities. This service provides transportation for riders who are unable to use DART's fixed route buses or trains.

DART buses and trains operate daily from approximately 5 a.m. to midnight. DART Rail offers service every 8-15 minutes during rush hours, every 20 minutes during midday and weekends and every 30 minutes late at night.

Each campus is serviced by DART, and two of the seven Dallas College campuses have DART rail stations  next to campus.

North Lake Campus can be accessed via the North Lake College Station and El Centro Campus has the West End Station.

With your Student GoPass you'll be able to ride all local DART bus routes, the light rail and 1 Zone Trinity Railway Express (Union to CentrePort Station). You can also ride GoLink, DART’s on-demand ride service (similar to Uber).

The Student GoPass is not valid on special services as designated by DART, such as flyer service, airport service and charter service.

You can request a Student GoPass as soon as you register and pay for your classes. You do not need to wait until Certification Day.

Once you submit the Request Form you will receive an email (the following Monday) from eConnectCommunications@dcccd.edu with an update on your eligibility status.

If you currently meet the eligibility requirements, the email will provide you with final steps to receive your GoPass. If you do not currently meet the eligibility requirements, the email will tell you how you can become eligible.

You must notify Cashier’s Office of the change. They will complete a GoPass Deactivation & Reassignment form to be emailed to DART. Once received by DART, it will take two business days for the change to be made.

You will need to uninstall and reinstall the GoPass app and register the new phone number. Please remember, it may take a few days for the request for the pass to be reassigned to the new phone number.

After you submit the GoPass request form you'll see a screen that reads:

"DART Student GoPass Confirmation. Thank you for submitting your request for the DART Student GoPass! Your request is now under review. You will receive an email on Monday from eConnectStudentCommunications@dcccd.edu with an update on your eligibility status. Questions? Please refer to our DART Student GoPass webpage for more info."

Be sure you have downloaded any recent updates to the GoPass app to your phone. For example, from an iPhone you can view pending updates by visiting the App Store and selecting "Updates" in the bottom right corner.

You should also make sure your phone software is up to date and install any necessary software updates.

The GoPass app takes minimal space on your phone, approximately 28 MB.

Data usage with the GoPass app is minimal and can average anywhere from 3 to 30 MB per month. It depends how often you used the app when riding DART.

Your DART Student GoPass will be good through the end of the current semester.

  • For Spring semester a pass is valid Jan. 1 – May 31.
  • For Summer semester a pass is valid May 15 – Aug. 31.
  • For Fall semester a pass is valid Aug. 1– Dec. 31.

Students eligible for the Student GoPass must maintain their hours (credit or contact hours) to continue to be eligible for the Student GoPass. A student who starts the semester as an eligible student could lose their Student GoPass if they drop or withdraw from classes.

No. After you register for classes your original GoPass request is re-activated. You'll receive an email from eConnectCommunications@dcccd.edu updating your status and outlining next steps. Once you meet eligibility requirements for the DART Student GoPass your free pass will appear in your GoPass mobile app under "Wallet."

Yes, you can. A physical Student GoPass will be issued. Please follow the steps below.

Note: Lost physical passes and DART decals will not be replaced.

  1. First, be sure you have paid your tuition either by direct payment, through financial aid or by setting up a payment plan.
  2. Next, have your photo taken at your campus if you haven't already.
  3. Third, request your Student GoPass by filling out the Request Form in eConnect.
  4. Visit your campus' Business Office. The earliest a physical pass can be issued is the 12th Class Day of the semester. View the Academic Calendar to see specific dates.

Yes, all Early College High School (ECHS) students who currently meet the eligibility requirements may apply for a DART Student GoPass. This includes students attending Richland Collegiate High School.
