With seven campuses and more than 20 locations to patrol, Dallas College Police has plenty of career opportunities. Our police force includes 150 officers serving a student body of over 90,000 — not to mention college faculty and staff.

The team, while large, focuses on the individual needs of each campus we serve. Some of our campus communities are urban city centers, like El Centro in downtown Dallas, while others are international melting pots, including North Lake in Irving and Richland in North Dallas.

The Dallas College Police Department is currently accepting applications for various shifts and locations. Our focus is on the individual needs of the campuses we serve. Our main college campuses are Brookhaven, Cedar Valley, Eastfield, El Centro, Mountain View, North Lake and Richland. We also serve multiple satellite locations.

Overall Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have a valid Texas driver’s license

Noncertified Requirements

  • 30 college hours or two years of active military duty

Certified Requirements

  • 30 college hours or two years of active military duty
  • Two years as a sworn peace officer

24 hours a day, seven days a week, members of the Dallas College Police Department can be found patrolling roads, buildings, and campuses; preventing crime, protecting public safety, enforcing laws, and providing front-line public service by assisting students and staff to ensure a safe environment. With seven campuses and more than 20 locations throughout Dallas County and a student body over 75,000, we see ourselves as protectors of the future. 

Police dispatch, how may I help you? The Dallas College PD is a licensed police department with duly sworn police officers that has maintained a steadfast commitment to protect and serve Dallas College over the past 56 years. At a 155 members strong, we train consistently on all aspects of police work to be the best at what we do and prepare for any situation that may confront us. Officers are provided state of the art equipment to meet the challenges of their daily workload.
