Become a skilled pharmacy technician. You'll be ready to help licensed pharmacists provide medication
and other health care products to patients.
Licensure & Certification
To practice in Texas, all pharmacy technicians are required to pass the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam and gain registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy as a certified pharmacy technician.
Texas is one of several states in which pharmacy technician registration and certification are required. Texas also requires completion of a training program, usually administered by the pharmacist-in-charge at a pharmacy or through a self-study resource. While formal education in a community, career or technical college is not currently required, the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board will begin requiring it in 2020.
Licensure and certification costs are not included in tuition cost.
