Tuition and Fees — For purposes of financial aid, tuition is based on half-time enrollment. The actual costs that a student incurs will vary depending on the student’s degree or certificate program.
Books and Supplies
- Books are included in tuition costs beginning with 2020-2021 figures.
- Supply costs are estimated based on average expenses.
Food & Housing — A reasonable estimate of what it would cost to live in the Dallas metro area while attending school. Actual costs may vary by individual choices related to location and circumstances.
Transportation — The transportation allowance is based on an average of public transportation.
Personal and Misc. — A reasonable estimate of personal living expenses during the enrollment period. Actual expenses will vary.

The costs of attendance (COA) figures in the chart above provide an estimate of what it costs to attend Dallas College for a traditional nine-month academic year. Your actual expenses may vary, but the standard amounts allowed for each COA component provided on this page are used to determine financial aid eligibility. Each financial aid applicant is assigned a COA according to how the student fits into the classifications in the chart.
The Financial Aid Office must make sure that the combined total of federal, state or local financial aid awarded does not exceed a student’s COA. The COA for Dallas College is revised and recorded annually with the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.
