(DALLAS) — To educate voters and encourage civic engagement, all seven campuses of Dallas College will be open to the community for early voting.
Early voting begins Tuesday, Oct. 13, and continues through Friday, Oct. 30. The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 3 election is Monday, Oct. 5.
“Your vote is your voice,” said Isaac Faz, Dallas College’s chief legislative counsel. “Decisions at every level of government affect your day-to-day living, your job opportunities and your access to a quality education.”
“Show up and cast your ballot,” Faz said.
A
drive-thru voter registration with Dallas College and Hot 93.3 also takes place on Monday, Oct. 5. The one-hour event starts at 11:30 a.m. at Dallas College West Dallas Center (formerly El Centro West Campus). The League of Women Voters will be on hand to sign up potential voters, and Hot 93.3 will give away mugs, movie tickets and more.
A
video challenge sponsored by the Student Government Association encourages participants to post videos to Instagram and tag Dallas College (#DallasCollegeVotes) for the chance to win gift cards or an iPad mini. Dallas College students, faculty, staff and community members who are Texas residents may enter.
