(DALLAS) –– With the health and safety of students and employees a top priority, Dallas College is announcing it will continue with mostly online courses for the Spring 2021 semester to meet student needs while mitigating any potential impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over the last seven months, Dallas College’s response to the pandemic has continued to evolve. During that time, the college shifted to an online environment for the Spring, Summer and Fall semesters of 2020.
Dallas College will continue to offer many specialized career and technical education courses and plans to use a hybrid approach to provide limited general education courses with a mixture of face-to-face and online instructional offerings. As always, the college continues working with faculty to ensure the limited number of courses that remain in person, such as some nursing, welding and automotive technology classes, adhere to Centers for Disease Control guidelines.
As many of its ISD partners continue to refine their plans during the Fall semester, Dallas College expects that the decision for most of the college’s classes to remain online during the Spring 2021 semester will assist ISDs in their own preparations for the Spring. In the meantime, Dallas College will remain flexible while working closely with them to align around instruction, processes and safety protocols for students attending P-TECHs, dual-credit courses and early college high schools.
While the college continues to partner with local health and government officials to monitor the pandemic and its impact on North Texas, all Dallas College campuses remain closed to the general public. Current and prospective students, however, can schedule appointments with student services representatives and can also make appointments to use libraries, schedule limited face-to-face tutoring services and access select computer labs at all campuses.
