(DALLAS) — Dallas College has announced a new partnership with Texas State University (TXST) to launch Texas State Local @ Dallas College, a co-enrollment program that offers students a seamless path to earn both an associate and a bachelor’s degree. This collaboration will allow students to begin their academic journey at Dallas College and complete their degree at TXST, with the program available at Dallas College's Richland Campus.
The Texas State Local @ Dallas College initiative aims to provide students with personalized support, helping them save money and earn their bachelor’s degree in a timely manner. This program will foster a sense of belonging and connection across both institutions, ensuring that students have the resources and guidance they need to succeed. Eligible students can begin applying for the program in fall 2025.
"Unclear pathways to progression and financial concerns are two of the biggest barriers our students face,” said Dallas College Chancellor Justin H. Lonon. “This co-enrollment partnership directly addresses these challenges, providing students with a barrier-free roadmap to completion at an affordable cost. Together, we’re ensuring success is within reach!”
The Texas State Local @ Dallas College program offers students the opportunity to complete select TXST bachelor’s degrees on the Dallas College campus. The degrees available are:
- Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Management
- Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Finance
- Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Marketing
- Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in Information Systems (concentrations in Business Analytics and/or AI)
These degrees are offered through the McCoy College of Business at TXST, which is ranked among the top business schools in the nation by Poets & Quants for Undergrads. In its 2025 rankings, McCoy College is listed at No. 75 overall and No. 30 among all public universities in the U.S.
Dallas College and TXST have established clear transfer guidelines to ensure that every credit counts. Students who complete 63 credit hours at Dallas College before transitioning to TXST are expected to save up to $18,500 in tuition and fees, based on fiscal year 2025 rates.
“Having been a first-generation student who started at a community college, I understand the life-changing impact of partnerships like this,” said TXST President Kelly Damphousse. “This program is about more than just affordability — it’s about creating opportunities. With Texas State Local @ Dallas College, students will have access to top-tier business programs in their own community, with the support they need to succeed. We are eliminating barriers, creating pathways and helping students reach their goals of earning a high-quality degree.”
Starting in fall 2025, all Texas State Local participants will receive a $1,000 scholarship for their first semester at TXST, renewable for a second year. Additionally, students transferring to TXST’s San Marcos or Round Rock campuses will be eligible for transfer merit awards based on their GPA in transferable coursework.
Students in the program will also have access to a variety of benefits, including academic advising, libraries, counseling services and extracurricular activities at both Dallas College and TXST. Additionally, participants will receive free tickets to select TXST home football games starting in fall 2025.
