Graphic and Web Design

Students will learn basic page building techniques for creating professional quality web sites — perfect for family or school projects. From storyboards, digital art, and page building to navigation, design, and page linking, students will gain mastery of digital techniques for designing web sites, step-by-step. Prior programming knowledge would be helpful, but not required.

Dates: 6/22/20 – 6/26/20

Coding with MICRO:BIT!

This camp is designed to create all sorts of cool creations, from robots to musical instruments, introducing students to coding and electronics. The Micro:Bits are programmed with lights that can flash messages & two programmable buttons that can be used to control games or pause and skip songs on a playlist. The Micro:Bits comes with multiple code editors that will start off with Block-based programming and working on various interesting projects!

Earth and Environment

Today's current events are having profound effects on planet earth. During this camp, students will be taken on a journey by exploring environmental impacts caused by the human race through the use of science and satellite imagery.  We will explore earth, discover each student's environmental footprint, and learn what each of us can do both in and out of our home to help improve the environment.  By the end of this camp, students will have valuable tools they can apply with family, friends, and at school.

Game Design

This is an opportunity to take gaming to the next level. Students will have the opportunity to improve their skills in team-oriented game design and development. By the end of this camp, students will demonstrate how to develop their own characters, produce their own game, communication, computer knowledge, team building, and critical thinking. Students will present a gaming live-stream tournament.

Inspiring Young Entrepreneurs

Participants will learn the sweet aspect of business ownership by creating their own business or beverage stand i.e. restaurant, clothing couture, construction enterprise, snow cones, lemonade, and flavored teas while implementing advertising and marketing, salesmanship, and small business management. At the end of this camp, students will showcase a virtual mini Shark Tank presentation.

Math/Algebra Boot Camp

Students will explore mathematics in a fun way through games, puzzles, and other activities. This course is designed to expose children to advanced mathematics, also reinforcing and improving critical thinking, problem-solving and computational skills as addressed on STAAR.
