Learn How To Apply Frequently Asked Questions I am a non-traditional-age student. Are there scholarships available for me? There are no age restrictions on many foundation scholarships, and there are no age restrictions on federal student aid eligibility. As a Promise or Rising Star student, am I eligible for foundation scholarships? No, due to Promise and Rising Star scholarships covering all tuition (books included). Do I need to complete the FAFSA? Some scholarships awarded through this competitive application process require the recipient to show financial need as determined by the annual Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). All newly admitted and continuing Dallas College students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA, regardless of family income. There is no application fee, and the eligibility information received from the application will assist with budgeting for education-related expenses. Complete the FAFSA online at FAFSA.gov. When will I know if I have been awarded? You can log in to the myScholarships portal after the deadline and check the status of your application. If you are offered a scholarship, you will receive an email notifying you of your award two to three weeks after the deadline date with instructions on how to accept the award.
