Interest forms must be submitted at least 5 business days before the F-1 admissions deadline to be considered for that intake period.

A designated school officer (DSO) is available to assist you with your F-1 immigration needs on each campus. If you would like to schedule an appointment with a DSO, please visit the Admissions Office on your campus or email International@DallasCollege.edu.

Enrollment Steps for F-1 International Students

Below are the enrollment steps for F-1 international students as you prepare to enroll at Dallas College. Please refer to Admission Requirements for International Students for further details on specific admission requirements and policies.

Begin the application process by submitting an International Student Interest Form. You will then receive an email with detailed information on F-1 student requirements.

Next, complete the International Student Application. Completing this application will provide you with a student ID number for Dallas College to be used in Step 2. After you complete the application, you will receive a welcome letter by email. This is not proof of admission for F-1 students. Students should not use this letter to obtain a visa or transfer your SEVIS record. You will need to complete Step 2 to receive an official admission and I-20 to Dallas College.

After receiving your 7-digit Dallas College student ID number, please collect the required documents listed below. You will receive an email with instructions on where to upload the documents online. Documents must be clear, flat scans with no portions cut off or obstructed and in PDF format. Please refer to Admission Requirements for International Students for further details on specific admission requirements and policies.

For new students outside of the United States:

  • Copy of biographical page of your passport
  • Bank letter or statement showing a minimum of $27,641 USD. Funds should be converted into U.S. currency and letters or statements should be translated into English by a professional translator. Please add an additional $5,000 USD for each dependent.
  • Affidavit of financial support form
  • For dependents, please also upload copies of the biographical page of their passport and official proof of relationship.

  • Copy of visa page in passport

  • For dependents, please also upload copies of the biographical page of their passport, F-2 visa, I-20s, I-94s and official proof of relationship.

Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

Prior to enrollment, students will also be required to submit the following upon arrival:

  • All additional official transcripts from any schools attended inside the U.S. (For transfer students only)

Initial and Change of Status applicants must provide proof of English proficiency level prior to the issuance of an I-20 or a letter of acceptance. Please refer to Admission Requirements for International Students for further details. Transfer applicants will be assessed for program level prior to registration, but after acceptance. All applicants must meet TSIA2 testing/status requirements or provide proof of exemption prior to enrolling in a college level program.

After you complete Steps 1-3, a DSO will review your application to verify all documents are received and you meet the qualifications for admission.

If you are a new student from outside the United States, you will receive an official acceptance letter signed by a DSO and an initial I-20 that you can use for your visa appointment.

If you are a transfer student attending a school from inside the United States, you will receive an official acceptance letter signed by a DSO that you may submit to your current school to release your SEVIS record to Dallas College.

After your official acceptance, all international students are required to attend an F-1 information session. During your information session, you will learn about your responsibilities to maintain your status and the many ways we can help you succeed at Dallas College.

You may also register for the coming semester. You will be connected with a success coach (advisor) who will provide you more details on how to register.

Find out when to pay and where to pay.

Once you have paid for your classes or set up a payment plan, your success coach will review your student record for full-time enrollment and your DSO will provide your continued attendance form I-20.
