Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Project

An opportunity for students at Dallas College’s Eastfield, El Centro or North Lake campuses.

The Department of Education's Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions (DHSI) Program provides grants to assist Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) to expand educational opportunities for, and improve the attainment of, Dallas College's diverse student body. These grants also enable HSIs​ to expand and enhance their academic offerings, program quality, and institutional stability.

These three Dallas College campuses will be offering a variety of ​services designed to boost your success.

 

Services will include:

  • Free educational workshops on financial literacy, including financial aid options, work-study opportunities and scholarships
  • Free academic tutoring in core subjects
  • Internship/apprenticeship opportunities in health, business, technology, education and construction programs
  • Regular check-ins with academic and success coaches to discuss grades, enrollment, transfer, and job training and development
  • Free monthly workshops on academic, career and personal growth topics in partnership with community and business organizations
