CCL Interest Form

Attending the WRU information session and filling out the application is a requirement to be eligible for the WRU grant and the first step in your application process.

In this session you will learn important information about program requirements, assessments required for class placement, and certifications available upon completion of the program. After filling out the interest form you will be sent an email with the option to watch a brief video of the information session or attend a live virtual session as well as the link for the WRU Application. Don’t forget to check your spam or junk folder for this email!

For over a decade the WRU program has worked diligently to ensure education is accessible to all. Now through the combined efforts of becoming ONE college and the commitment of Career-Connected-Learning (CCL), Dallas College can offer a unified application process to its students. This process allows the student’s application to be considered not just for the WRU grant, but for so many more Dallas College funding sources, all in one location. The WorkReadyU Application will give you an official Dallas College Student ID (or if you are a returning student, confirm your ID number).

Once you complete the WRU Application you will receive an email confirmation (as well as a screen message) with your next steps, access to your eConnect student account. You must be logged into this account to gain access to the Student Connection Hub which is our admissions portal.

It can take up to 48 hours from when you access eConnect to receive your second (2nd) email taking you to the Student Connection Hub; the “One-Stop Shop” for your application process. In the Hub you will be able to follow a check list guiding you through completing grant requirements, eligibility, funding, and enrollment into the program of your choice. Our team of Coaches and specialists will be monitoring your progress and help you stay on track to completion.

The CASAS Assessment measures basic and academic skills for adults as well as curriculum tools to target instruction. Once you have completed the necessary documents assigned to you in the student connection hub check list, you will be given the opportunity to schedule your assessment. Keep in mind, this assessment can take 3-4 hours, dependent on the student. This is a requirement and is used as an informative tool for students, teachers, and class placement.

Now that you have all the necessary information the final item on your check list will be to meet with your coach. During this meeting your coach will go over your assessment results, educational goals, class placement recommendations, available schedule, location, teacher, and plan completion.

If you agree with it all…. your coach will finalize the process and get you Enrolled!

Begin your ESL, HSE (GED) and/or job training classes!

I got it, let’s get started!
