This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing Business Administration. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a Business Operations Specialist Certificate. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.

The Business Operations Specialist Certificate focuses on developing specialized core foundation skills and abilities critical to working within business organizational environments. This certificate includes understanding and applying essential knowledge from areas including accounting, business, customer service, and technology crucial to business operations. Students will hone essential business skills and select electives enabling both a business focus and the ability to earn an industry-aligned certification. Participation in cooperative learning experiences will broaden understanding and provide essential experiences gained in the work environment. Courses that complete the Business Operations Specialist Certificate and the Business Operations Generalist Certificate (OG) are noted below.

Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards but must meet course prerequisites.

ELECTIVE Any ONE three-credit or four-credit hour course must be selected from the following courses: ACNT 1311, BMGT 1309, ITSW 1407, POFI 1349, POFI 2301.

BUSG 1381 – Cooperative Education-Business/Commerce, General This is the capstone course for this award.

SEMESTER 2 ACTION ITEMS
