The guided pathway in Neuroscience will provide students with the basic foundation for this broad, interdisciplinary field in cognitive and behavioral research of the brain. An Associate of Science (A.S.) degree with courses in this pathway prepares you to transfer to the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) earn a bachelor's degree that opens the door to a career in medicine, education or research such as biomedical science, genetic engineering, biotechnology, and many more areas.

This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing Neuroscience. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn an A.S. degree, which will increase your chances of transfer to bachelor's level programs at UT Dallas. Courses that complete the degree are noted below. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours (15 hours) required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See the catalog for official degree requirements.

ENGL 1301 – Composition I This is a Core course. Must earn a grade of “C" or higher.

MATH 2413 – Calculus I This is a Core course. Must earn a grade of “C" or higher. Prerequisites of MATH 1314, MATH 1316, MATH 2412, before enrolling in the class.

BIOL 1406 – Biology for Science Majors I This is a Core course.

EDUC 1300 – Learning Framework All college students with fewer than 12 semester credit hours of successful college credit (grade of "C" or above) must take a student success course in the first semester.
