This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Automotive Technology – Toyota Technician-Training and Education Network associate degree. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Toyota Technician-Training and Education Network. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours (15 hours) required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official degree requirements.
The Toyota Technician Training and Education Network program is a specialized program designed to prepare students for entry level employment as a service technician at a Toyota/Lexus dealership. Upon completion of a 2-year program, students will earn an Associates of Applied Science in Automotive Technology Toyota Technology degree and factory certification. Students are encouraged to gain sponsorship/employment from a participating Toyota/Lexus dealership approved by the College upon entering the program. They are required to have this sponsorship/paid internship/employment at a Toyota/Lexus dealer for at least 640 hours as a technician in order to receive the Toyota Technology degree and factory certification. Emphasis is placed upon the development of the necessary hands-on skills and knowledge required to function in Toyota/Lexus dealerships repairing and maintaining Toyota/Lexus model automobiles with electronic systems. This program includes operational theory, practical skills, and accepted shop procedures reinforced by intensive practice during cooperative work experience periods in the sponsoring dealership. Courses that complete the degree are noted below.
