This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing a Residential – Technician I Certificate within the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology program. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a Residential – Technician I Certificate. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements. Courses that complete the certificate are noted below.

Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.

SEMESTER 1

HART 1401 – Basic Electricity for HVAC Course is taught in a 5-week format.

HART 1403 – Air Conditioning Control Principles Course is taught in a 5-week format.

HART 1407 – Refrigeration Principles Course is taught in a 5-week format.
