The Associate of Arts in Teaching (A.A.T.) is a Board-approved collegiate degree program consisting of lower-division courses intended for transfer to baccalaureate programs that lead to initial Texas teacher certification. This plan is for those who are interested in earning certification to teach 4-8 grades in a generalist classroom setting or Special Education at all levels.
This pathway is an example course sequence for students interested in transferring to UNT Dallas to pursue the bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with certification in grades 4-8, Science with ESL. Following this pathway will help you earn an A.A.T. degree 4-8/Special Education EC-12. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours (15 hours) required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official degree requirements.
