This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Welding Technology – Rising Welder Level I Certificate. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn the Rising Welder Level I Certificate. Courses from this certificate apply to the related A.A.S. degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. The Rising Welder Certificate is an introductory welding program that enables students to obtain entry-level knowledge in Welding processes including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Blueprint reading, and a choice of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) or Introduction to Fabrication. Courses that complete the certificate and the Rising Welder Occupational Skills Award (SA) are noted below.
Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.

SEMESTER 2 ACTION ITEMS
