This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Rising Land Surveyor Certificate. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a certificate in Rising Land Surveyor. Courses from this certificate may apply to the related A.A.S. degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.
Land Surveying technicians measure and collect data on specific areas of land including information about boundaries, buildings, and features both natural and man-made. They assist surveyors, cartographers, and photogrammetrists in collecting and processing the data necessary for implementing engineering and construction projects from start to finish. Further educational opportunities allow graduates to seek Associates and Bachelor degrees in this field. Courses that complete the certificate are noted below.
Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.
