This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing the Emergency Medical Services/Paramedic Associate degree. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a Licensed Paramedic Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours (15 hours) required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official degree requirements.
The Licensed Paramedic Associate of Applied Science degree combines classroom teaching with supervised clinical and field experience for those seeking certification or license as a Paramedic with the Texas Department of Health Services. The graduate is eligible to take the exam for registration as a Paramedic through the National Registry of EMT. Upon successful completion of that examination, the student is eligible to apply for certification or license as a Paramedic in the State of Texas. Courses that complete the degree, the Emergency Medical Technician Basic Certificate (EM) and the Paramedic Certificate (PC) are noted below.
