This is an example course sequence for students interested in pursuing Computer Aided Design and Drafting. It does not represent a contract, nor does it guarantee course availability. Following this pathway will help you earn a Civil Drafting Occupational Skills Award. Students must earn at least 25% of the credit hours required for graduation through instruction by Dallas College. See catalog for official certificate requirements.

This program provides the skills needed for a student to become an entry-level CADD operator specializing in civil drafting and design. Coursework includes the creation of survey maps, plot plans, and other drawings necessary for the civil drafting industry. Courses that complete this award are noted below.

Students pursuing this certificate are waived from the Texas Success Initiative (TSI) standards, but must meet course prerequisites.

DFTG 2321 – Topographical Drafting This is the capstone for this program.

DFTG 1493 – Special Topics in Civil Drafting and Civil Engineering CAD/CADD
