HOST: Being an online student is different from being a traditional college student attending classes on campus. To succeed as an online student keep in mind C - P - R. Communicate, Plan and Read.
First, communicate. Communication is critical if things become difficult or too challenging, Your instructor or advisors can only help if they know you need help. If things get tough, let your instructor know. They are there to help you. Our advisors are also on hand to provide support throughout your studies and are experienced in helping online students stay motivated and achieve their academic goals.
Secondly, plan. One of the most important responsibilities you have as a student is making sure you meet the deadline set by instructors, for assignments, tests and discussions. This means you have to keep track of due dates, plan your study time and not put off doing things that need to be done like textbook reading, discussion, board postings and assignments. Also, remember to make sure to plan your study time so that you have access to a computer with a reliable internet connection when completing graded assignments and tests.
And, finally, read. Read all the assigned material and information relevant to your classes. Remember, if you're unsure about anything or if you need additional information, just ask. We're here to do everything we can to help you succeed in your program.
