Community Health Care Worker

​​​​​​​Community health workers are a​dv​ocates for individual and community health needs.

​As a community health worker, you will become a necessary li​nk for hospitals, churches,​ insurance companies and non-profits to connect with diverse populations and promote healthy behaviors.

Community health workers co​nduct outreach for medical personnel or health organizations in order to implement programs in communities. These programs promote, maintain, and improve individual and community health.​

Community health workers may provide information on available resources, provide social support, informal counseling, and advocate for individual and community health needs. They may also provide services such as first aid and blood pressure screenings.

Community Health Worker (​CE Skills A​ward)

Courses Required:

  • CHLT 1001 - Introduction to Community Health
  • CHLT 1002 - Wellness and Health Promotion
