Greetings from Herbert R. Ashford, Chief of Police for Dallas College
Police Department
The Dallas College Police Department serves and protects more than 100,000 students and 3,200 employees. With seven
campuses and over 11 centers and operational facilities, our police forces work continuously to build a community of
trust through partnerships and transparency with fair and impartial policing. The members of the Dallas College Police
Department strive to make a difference in the lives of individuals and the communities of Dallas County.
In recent years, our police department has increased its commitment to safety and representation in the community. Our
department supports our neighborhoods by participating in events such as National Night Out, assisting at food banks,
and joining in-service events to honor fallen police officers.
We have invested in equipment, increased training, and professional development to lead our newly rebranded department.
As a result, we ensure that our officers participate in training and activities that support public safety and
awareness. To show our appreciation for our police employees, we invite you to join us for the 2024 Dallas College
Police & Community Awards Banquet. This year, the awards banquet will take place from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024,
at the Ruthe Jackson Center in Grand Prairie.
We ask that you support our community and partner with us on showing our appreciation to our officers and the Dallas
County community members who strengthen our network to keep Dallas College students and communities safe. Please review
this sponsorship opportunity, and we hope that you or your organization will join us in thanking our remarkable officers
for their hard work and dedication to Dallas College.
Respectfully,
Herbert R. Ashford, Chief of Police
Dallas College
