Be Aware and Take Care – A Business Continuity Office & Safety Summit Sponsorship Opportunities
Dallas College’s Business Continuity Office (BCO) was developed as a response to COVID. The college worked tirelessly
during the pandemic to develop “a readiness plan” to respond to the needs of our students, employees, and the community.
As Dallas College adapts the business operation plans to address interruptions of services, the purpose of BCO is to
continuously have functions in place for emergencies and disruptions.
The BCO Team will host its second annual Business Continuity & Safety Summit on June 12, 2024. The purpose of the summit
is to ensure that local colleges, governmental entities, and businesses are better prepared to respond to business
interruptions (i.e., COVID-19) and safety concerns (shootings). The conference will highlight best practices for
preparing for and responding to business interruptions, as well as prevention and safety measures needed to proactively
respond to safety threats. Speakers will include those associated with business continuity, school/college safety,
cybersecurity.
The conference will be for ½ day, beginning with registration at 7:30am and ending at 1:30pm. There will be one keynote
speaker and two breakout sessions. We will have sponsors to raise money. The keynote speaker will cost approximately
$20K. Funds raised will be used to fund a tip hotline and a BCO employee scholarship (to be used when an employee has a
situation that interrupts business operations).
The initial goal of this conference is to create awareness among local businesses, colleges, schools, and governmental
entities about the need for sustainable business continuity practices and proactive safety measures. The long-term goal
is to create a local business continuity coalition of leaders that support, educate, collaborate, and share information
that will benefit not only their local entity, but Dallas County as a whole.
